was 1,264.5 people per square mile (490.1/km²). There were 544 housing
units at an average density of 595.6/sq mi (230.8/km²). The racial
makeup of the village was 97.92% White, 1.13% Black or African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.35% from other races, and 0.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.04% of the population.
There were 499 households out of which 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.9% were married couples
living together, 12.4% had a female householder with no husband
present, and 36.9% were non-families. 31.7% of all households were made
up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of
age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average
family size was 2.85.
In the village the population was spread out with 24.3% under the
age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to
64, and 13.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37
years. For every 100 females there were 99.8 males. For every 100
females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $34,600, and
the median income for a family was $41,375. Males had a median income
of $33,984 versus $23,804 for females. The per capita income for the village was $17,930. About 7.4% of families and 9.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.2% of those under age 18 and 5.5% of those age 65 or over.
